Board of Directors Chair to be Given to Quincy University Graduating Senior

Seat to be named after Father John Doctor, OFM

Palmyra, MO: Tek Forward, a local non-profit focused on accessible technical education, announced today that a seat on the Board of Directors will be given to a Quincy University Undergraduate student upon graduation.  The term of the seat is for one year, starting on July 1, 2024.

“We believe in helping graduating students as much as we can.  In this job market, any experience we can offer them benefits them,” says Luis Barnes, Executive Director at Tek Forward.  “We look forward to working with these young men and women.  They will offer a perspective unique to their generation, something we want to hear and understand as the world changes.”

Father John Doctor, OFM, current Vice President for Mission & Ministry at Quincy University, has been a long, steady presence at Quincy University for the last 15 years.

“The creation of this Chair signifies our calling to serve and not to be served, to give of ourselves for the good of others and the common good.”,” says Father John Doctor, OFM.

“Naming the seat after Father John was an easy decision.  Father John has been a great influence on me and a great mentor to many”, said Mr. Barnes, a Quincy University Alumni, who also serves as President of the Quincy University National Alumni Board.

Graduation students will have to apply and be approved by Tek Forward’s Board of Directors.  For more information, students can go to http://www.tekforward.org/quboardseat.
